Business Studies aims to provide a sound understanding of business concepts as a basis for future study and employment. This specification will provide a broad introduction to business and should encourage students to develop skills, knowledge and understanding in realistic business contexts, such as discovering the problems and opportunities faced by local businesses and/or organising an enterprise activity. COURSE STRUCTURE The Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Advanced GCE in Business is structured into four themes and consists of three externally examined papers. Grade 5 in GCSE Business Studies, Grade 5 in Maths and Grade 5 in English.
All exams are externally assessed at the end of Year 13. Paper1: Marketing people and global business: 2 hours, 2 questions, 100 marks, 35% weighting. Paper 2: Business activities, decisions and strategy: 2 hours, 2 questions, 100 marks, 35% weighting. Paper 3: Investigating business in a competitive environment: 2 questions, 100 marks, 30% weighting.
