Course summary

A Level Sociology studies the complex interrelationship between individuals and social groups and looks to understand why there seem to be patterns of behaviour and what determines them. We will study how we form our identities and who we really are, the role and influence of religion in contemporary society, education and whether we live in a true meritocracy and crime and deviance, looking at why some people are criminal and what factors cause criminality.
