
You will be reading and discussing examples from all the major literary genres and the course will cover authors as diverse as Chaucer, Kahled Hosseini, Sylvia Plath and Andrea Levy. Your teachers will help you to develop your own critical and creative responses to the authors whose works you encounter. You will discover connections between texts and you will see how literary texts can be interpreted in a variety of different ways. The ability to communicate fluently, accurately and effectively is an essential skill for all Literature students. Trips to see set texts, particularly plays, in performance will be offered whenever possible.
Minimum 6 GCSEs at Grade 5 and above to include a minimum of Grade 4 in Maths GCSE or English (Language or Literature) GCSE Plus Grade 5 in English Literature
