Why choose this subject? A Level Biology explores how living things work, starting the fundamental ideas about Cells and Biological Molecules, and continuing to explore Genetics and Inheritance, the biochemistry of Respiration and Photosynthesis and Ecology. What will I study? You will carry out practical work, both individually and in groups where you will learn to critically analyse data and gain knowledge of a wide range of biological concepts. Where can this subject take me? Biology can be used as an entry qualification for a variety of higher education courses including biological science courses, environmental science, medicine and healthcare sciences. As with other Science A Levels, Biology is a broadly valued subject due to the skills it teaches students.
