This course focuses on the early years, from birth to eight, helping you develop a deeper understanding of the core aspects of children’s development. You will learn how to analyse and evaluate information and potential issues relating to health and safety and safeguarding. Play and learning explores the vital role of play in children’s learning and development. You will also look at the purpose and impact of research in the children’s care and education sector and the purpose of reflective practice. Equivalent to one A Level, this course is suitable for students looking to develop their applied knowledge and skills in Education and Early Years as part of a study programme alongside A Levels. During the course, you will be given the opportunity to undertake a work placement in a setting with children from birth up to eight years.
