Course summary

A-level English Literature encourages students to read widely and think critically about poetry, prose and drama from different periods and genres. The course explores how writers shape meaning, how texts reflect their contexts, and how readers interpret literature across time. Students study texts ranging from Shakespeare and pre-1900 poetry to modern novels and plays, developing strong analytical and essay-writing skills.
