Course summary

Chemistry shapes our world. Medicines, materials that allow us to communicate electronically, and the clothes we wear, all demonstrate chemistry’s power to improve our lives. It helps us to develop solutions for the big challenges we face – for example, chemists identified the role of greenhouse gases in climate change and developed drugs for previously untreatable diseases. If you have a genuine interest and enthusiasm for the world around you, chemistry could be the course for you. You will gain a firm scientific foundation, developing practical, analytical, and problem solving skills through regular practical work. These skills are invaluable throughout life and highly sought-after by universities and employers.
