About the Course The OCR Level 3 Alternative Academic Qualification (AAQ) in Mental Health: Individuals and Society is a vocational programme designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of mental health within the context of individuals and society. Equivalent to one A-Level, the course blends academic theory with practical application and is assessed through a combination of exams and coursework. Our chosen optional unit allow students to investigate the role of physical activity and creative practices in promoting wellbeing. The course encourages the development of transferable skills including empathy, critical thinking, and communication, making it ideal for students who prefer applied learning and wish to make a meaningful impact in the health and social care sector. On the course, students will also get the opportunity to get to attend subject related trips and events such as the NHS SLAM conference, European residential health education trip. They will also be provided with opportunities to engage in community events such as developing campaigns to raise awareness for health issues like anxiety and depression.
