Course summary

Students have the opportunity to study AS German, a one-year course taken alongside three other A Levels, which you will continue into Year 13. The AS course is the same format as the first year of the A Level course and covers the same content. - Aspects of Society - Artistic Culture - Grammar - One film Why study? Students who have achieved a strong grade at Higher GCSE and wish to reach a more sophisticated level in German may enjoy studying one more year of their chosen foreign language. Having an advanced language qualification on your CV can make you stand out from the crowd and can open the doors to spending a year abroad as part of many university courses across the full range of degree subjects. Some students are just keen to learn more about other cultures and improve their communication skills. The AS course offers an impressive and enjoyable breadth of knowledge and opportunity. An AS Level is the equivalent of half an A Level and carry a maximum tariff of 2O UCAS points if an A Grade is achieved towards university applications.
