Course summary

Have you ever wanted to read about when you could sue someone? What the difference in law is between murder and manslaughter? What legal defences can be used? Then look no further. You could develop your analytical ability and problem-solving skills by studying A-Level Law. By learning some of the fundamental legal rules and then practicing applying those to legal scenarios, you will become a student with valuable critical thinking. In this course, your will develop the ability to digest large complex texts. Your writing style will mature as you write essays that build convincing legal arguments to support your thinking. You will also be writing about some of the controversies that rock the legal system today, such as law reform, human rights, and morality. Course Details Modules Studied Unit 1: The nature of law and the English legal system. Unit 2: Criminal law. Unit 3: Tort Unit 4: Human rights Large parts of units 1, 2 and 3 is studied in Year 12, with the remaining parts of these units and the entirety of human rights being studied in Year 13. Assessment
