

AAQ L3 IT allows students to gain an insight into IT and developing technologies. A wide range of units and pathways provide students with practical and project-based opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in areas such as infrastructure, application development and data analysis. On this course students have the opportunity to acquire the essential knowledge and tools for the world of work by developing transferable skills such as planning, research and analysis, working with others and effective communication. This approach enables students to develop their research skills as they work, both independently and with other students, as they progress through the course. Students considering this course should have a keen interest in all aspects of IT (including networks and infrastructure), the ability to work independently and to keep to deadlines. Where possible, students will be provided with opportunities to meet and discuss the role of practitioners who work within the IT sector.
Grade 4 (or equivalent) in iMedia / ICT / Computer Science if studied.
Students must complete three mandatory and two optional units to be awarded the Extended Certificate in IT: Data Analytics Mandatory units F200 Fundamentals of data analytics F201 Big data and machine learning F202: Spreadsheet data modelling Optional units F204: Data and the Internet of Everything (IoE) F206: Data and digital marketing
