Course summary

Within the Health and Social Care sector you will meet and work with a wide range of individuals with diverse needs. Within human lifespan development you will increase your knowledge about how people develop physically, emotionally and socially across the life stages. Human biology and health studies organs, body systems and groups of cells known as tissues. Principles of practice aims to increase your knowledge and understanding of professional standards, skills and attributes when working in health and social care settings. You will be taught through formal teaching, small group activities, potential for work experience. Please be aware that the themes and topics in Unit 3: Principles of Health and Social Care may contain mentions of upsetting or difficult topics which are related to the subject, including references to the following: · Child protection and welfare · Safeguarding · Child abuse; physical abuse and injury, neglect, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse. This qualification can lead to progression to the following degrees: * BSC Nursing * BSC Social Work * BSC Subjects Allied to Health
