BTEC Sport

Course summary
Year 1 - You will learn about how the body is made up of different systems, how these systems work together and why they are important to sports performance. You will also complete a unit understanding National Governing Body’s and the rules and regulations in sport. Students will need film evidence of participation in a formal fixture to form part of their overall grade. Year 2 - You will explore screening methods often used in the fitness industry to help designing fitness programmes. You will then complete a unit learning about the career and job opportunities in the sports and fitness industry. This includes learning around recruitment processes into the industry. Due to the high theory content, lessons for BTEC sport are classroom based, with a variety of methods used. For the coursework elements of the course students will be working on computers to complete assignments in time for strict deadlines. This qualification carries UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers.
