You will develop the following knowledge and skills from the mandatory units: • Knowledge and understanding of human physiology, anatomy and pathology • Secondary research skills including collection and interpretation of data from valid sources and drawing reasoned conclusions • Practical skills in microbiology and their application in the diagnosis of disease • Critical thinking The course is suitable for students who want a strong science background but prefer continuous assessments over purely exam-based A-Levels. The emphasis of the course is applying knowledge to health care scenarios and when possible, taking a hands-on approach, carrying out various practical enquiries. The lessons will be a mix of theory and practical work. At times case studies will be also used to help students expand their understanding and learn about real life health care scenarios.
