Course summary

This course is relevant to the modern and ever-changing world of computing. It is designed to boost Computer Science skills essential for the 21st century. Students will need to have a keen interest in problem solving and computational thinking. It is essential that students have a very good mathematical understanding for this subject, due to the high maths content and demands of the course. Computer Science encourages students to be inspired and challenged, through completing a coherent, satisfying and worthwhile course of study. Units studied on this course are: • Computer Systems: Systems architecture, memory, wired and wireless networks and ethical, legal, cultural and environmental concerns. • Computational Thinking, Algorithms and Programming: Programming techniques, computational logic and data representation.
