Course summary
This is a two year programme of study. The three units that students study across years 12 and 13 are a depth study of the Wars of the Roses 1445-1509: Lancastrians, Yorkists and Henry VIII. As well as a breadth study on The Making of Superpower, the USA 1865-1975 with a focus on political tension and division, economic change and development and social development as well as foreign affairs and domestic presidential policy across the period. They will also study towards the completion of an NEA. The specialist teachers in the department do make occasional changes to the selection of units of study, according to their own on-going historical research interests, and also the feedback provided by students.
