UTC Derby Year 12 Showcase

October 17, 2026

09:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Thank you for booking a place at our Open Morning on Saturday 17th October. We are delighted to say that the response has been unprecedented. Over 1,000 people have signed up to visit, the highest number we have ever seen, and it is a real reflection of the growing reputation of UTC Derby Pride Park as the place to be for young people with ambitions in engineering, health science and advanced STEM. To make sure everyone has a great experience on the day, I would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to plan your visit using the information below. Please choose the Principal's talk that suits you and plan your visit around it. The talks will take place at the following times:9:15am Year 9 entry9:45am Post 16 (Year 12 entry)10:15am Year 9 entry10:45am Post 16 (Year 12 entry) The event runs from 9am to 12pm. Because of the sheer volume of visitors, we are asking families to limit their visit to around one hour where possible. The best way to do this is to arrive around 15 minutes before your chosen talk, then explore our specialist subject areas either before or after the presentation. Our staff and students will be on hand throughout to answer your questions and show you what makes our curriculum so different. Pride Park will be busy, so please allow extra time for your journey. Parking is available next door at Derby College and EMR, and we would encourage families to car share where possible. Derby railway station is also within walking distance if you prefer to travel by train. If you have not yet applied, applications are open now at https://www.utcderby.org.uk/apply/. The deadline for Year 9 applications is 31st October, and applications received after this date will be placed on the waiting list. The deadline for Post 16 applications is 31st January. Given the level of interest this year, I would strongly encourage you to apply early. If you have any questions before the day, please contact us at derbyadmin@utcderby.org.uk. Thank you for your interest in UTC Derby Pride Park. We cannot wait to show you around on Saturday.
