Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Enrichment is participating in additional learning opportunities so that you can develop strengths and skills beyond the classroom. Enrichment can support your course of study, generate knowledge and interest in additional subject areas, and assist with providing experiences that make for a well rounded person. Enrichment opportunities are open for all students to join whether you are studying the affiliated subject or not - remember, enrichment can be supercurricular or extracurricular. Both are equally valued and encouraged.

The Young Journalist Academy
Encourages young people to engage with news and current affairs by creating their own School Newsroom and publishing their work to a global audience. This opportunity has enabled some of our students to work with industry-trained broadcast journalists and other professionals to train them in all aspects of broadcast journalism.
Volunteering
Great emphasis is placed upon the importance of voluntary work in the 6th Form and students are actively encouraged to give something back to their school and wider community. Students may choose to volunteer in a field that they are interested in studying at university, or a particular career that they wish to pursue. Voluntary work develops self-confidence, communication skills and provides insight and experience of working with others in interesting, fun and different environments and assists in successful university and job applications.
Year 12 Enrichment Programme
Held every Wednesday afternoon and has been specially designed to support our students at this very important stage in their lives. Each half-term has a specific focus helping to prepare students for university life, the world of work and to feel safe, secure and ready to face the challenges of adult life: Successful 6th Form transition, Employ Me!, Staying Safe and Secure, Happy, Healthy Relationships, Independent Living.
