Fola Olaleye

September 2016

University

After my time at St Anne’s, I pursued a Bachelor’s Degree at UCL in Urban Planning & Design - the study and design of cities and the built environment. Geography was my favourite subject at school, and it was at St Anne’s that my passion for cities and the complex social and economic dynamics within them was born. Since completing my degree, I have had a diverse professional journey, working as a researcher and communications specialist within the urban innovation and infrastructure finance sectors. I now work as a Senior Consultant for a global engineering firm, exploring the role of data and emerging technologies in developing more sustainable cities.

I lead a global sisterhood community called To My Sisters. We host events, retreats and programmes for women all over the world and fund philanthropic projects that make the world a better place for women and girls.

As a final-year law undergraduate applying for Bar School and a masters degree in law, my goal is to become a criminal barrister. I can confidently say St. Anne’s played a crucial role in my journey. It helped me build and showcase my confidence, and I owe a significant part of my current successes to the education and support I received there.
