HomeSchool Profile

Welcome to Holte School

Building on our tremendous success at Key Stage 4 we offer our students the opportunity to continue their studies at Holte Sixth Form. Not only do we offer excellent teaching, but also the opportunity to become involved in a wide range of extracurricular activities.

We regard Sixth Form students as role models for younger members of the school and they are involved in the wider aspects of school life. They contribute significantly to many activities including supporting younger students during break and lunchtimes, whole school events and sport and are entrusted with responsibilities such as academic mentoring, translating, with students selected as School Council Members, Sixth Form Ambassadors, Deputy Head Students and Head Students.

We provide an induction programme, in partnership with Aston University, to settle students in quickly. Holte Sixth Form regularly monitor attendance, punctuality and academic progress and work closely together to ensure that all students achieve their full potential.

Every student is assigned to a form where students build close relationships with their form coaches and high-quality pastoral care and personal development are in place. Wherever possible students will remain with the same form coach for the duration of the two years. Guidance will be given through a SMSC/Citizenship/PSHE programme on issues that are important to our students. These include Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (further education, higher education, apprenticeships and employment and training) and welfare issues. We have a support programme in place for students wishing to study medicine or dentistry or veterinary science and/or wish to apply to the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge. Each year a large proportion of our Year 13 students progress to the university of their choice.
