Welcome to St Francis of Assisi Catholic College

As a growing Sixth Form the working and non-contact environment is unrivalled. Students have a pastoral coach who guides and supports them as well as a Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Lead of Sixth Form. All students have a Form Tutor and five periods of study, per week, in their chosen subjects. In addition to this there is extensive UCAS and careers advice which sets the aspirational scene for all students. The structure of the Sixth Form allows for greater independence and responsibility so that students are prepared for their chosen next steps at the end of the Key Stage studies. However, we don’t lose sight of the fact that our young people still need support and so our Welfare offer to Sixth Form students continues. We are conscious of the pressures young people face and therefore still hold dear our values and warm relationships throughout the Sixth Form.

I studied at St Francis of Assisi for both my GSCEs and A-Levels. I left in 2013. During Sixth Form I completed further work experience to try out the construction industry. After deciding that structural engineering was for me, I applied to university for a 5-year Master’s sandwich course in Civil Engineering. I completed a year in industry in the middle of the course, where I worked for a structural engineering firm for 15 months.
