Welcome to Castle Hill High School

Together we’re better!

We are not dreaming of a world when all differences are eradicated and all disabilities are cured – we believe that diversity does bring strength and that we can all learn and grow by knowing one another.

Our dynamic learning environment is housed in a purpose built Sixth Form Centre. Twenty six students in each of Years 12 and 13 are given opportunities that will prepare them for adulthood and the world of work. Emphasis is placed on developing further independence, gaining work experience and vocational skills, alongside improving their functional skills in improving English, mathematics and computing.

Our course is not appropriate for students who need a greater emphasis on life skills rather than work skills.

Students need to be working within or above Entry Level 1 in English and Math. We do not offer courses above Level 2.

Students need to apply for a place in the Sixth Form. This needs to be done in Year 10 or at the start of Year 11 before 1st October. As places are limited we advise parents/carers to attend post 16 information events at school as well as our Sixth Form, in Years 10-11.

Post-18 provision is also available in the Sixth Form.

We offer a one year Pre-Internship course for approximately 10 students a year. The course is designed to prepare young adults with an ECHP for work and/or transition on to supported internships or apprenticeships as appropriate. Emphasis is placed on work experience and developing work readiness and work related skills in our young adults.

Students need to apply for a place on this course during Year 13.
