A warm welcome to our co-educational Sixth Form at Dover Grammar School for Girls.

Thumbnail Outlook yoyiwvj4

The sixth form is outstanding.

Sixth form students make a very valuable contribution to the school community. Students have high academic aspirations and are very well prepared for the next stage of their education. Students new to the sixth form comment on the work ethic and the level of Individual responsibility expected of them.

ETHOS AND VISION

If you are looking for an academic, inclusive and caring place to complete your Post-16 studies, but with the outlook, flexibility and approach of a non-school setting, then DGGS is that place. For all intents and purposes DGGS is a “traditional” Sixth Form provider, but with the modern approach of a college-style setting. Our ethos, values and curriculum are underpinned by a sense of aspiration, flexibility and individual support.

Curriculum Intent

Our Sixth Form curriculum at DGGS is underpinned by a sense of aspiration, flexibility and individual support.

Our academic curriculum is designed to promote intellectual curiosity, to equip students with transferable research skills, and to foster the strong levels of independence necessary to thrive in higher education and the world of work.

From a pastoral perspective, our form-time and PSHE programmes aim to develop our students’ health, wellbeing and capacity to form mutually-respectful relationships. Our wider curriculum includes careers education, one-to-one support for university and apprenticeship applications and aspirational programmes to support specific career pathways and destinations.
