Welcome to Philpots Manor School

The school focuses on developing the key skills of literacy and numeracy to underpin a broad and dynamic curriculum. Our rural location and estate enable us to place a strong emphasis on outside learning, through subjects such as Horticulture, Forest School and Horse Riding and Equine Studies. We also deliver a range of active, practical and creative subjects such as Science, Personal Social and Emotional Education (PSHE), Physical Education, Art, Textiles, Ceramics, ICT, Food Technology and Drama. Pupils are encouraged and supported to achieve recognised and accredited qualifications in most subjects and our key focus is to maximise successful outcomes for each and every young person by the end of their placement with us.

Pupils play an active role in the running of the school, through representation on our School Council and discussions and debates in morning tutor time and PSHE lessons. They are well supported in small class groups with a teacher and at least one teaching assistant and pupil welfare is always our focus. We have trained and experienced Well Being Mentors working from our Well Being Hub to support pupils with pastoral and personal needs and liaise with parents and carers and outside agencies such as children’s social services, CAMHS and therapy services.
