Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
We pride ourselves on our extensive extra-curricular provision. There are many activities that take place outside the classroom across a range of interests – art, leisure, performing arts, science, sport, and technology, with most students belonging to at least one club. The activity choices change throughout the year, which encourages students to try new experiences from time-to-time.

Student Events

Post 16 students take part in a number of events over the two years. Team building, in order to ensure students work together we arrange team building activities, some of these have been completed at Ackers Adventure Centre as well as at Grace Academy Solihull and Bear Grylls Adventure. This shows students the importance of working as part of a team.

Student Guild

The Guild works to represent all students in Post 16, by voicing the issues which matter most to students during their studies. The Guild is also here to help them to develop their skills, look after their overall wellbeing and hosts a range of entertainment and activities for students to have fun and make the most of their time in Post 16.

Work Experience Opportunities

At Grace Academy Post 16, work experience is a key component of our 16 to 19 study programmes, students complete a two-week placement in the summer term either in a single organisation or via split placements across the two weeks. We aim to give young people the opportunity to develop their career choices, get a first taste of work, and develop the critical employability skills needed for real working conditions. This cements the weekly career tutor sessions that students take part in and links with our online career platform, Unifrog, as well as with the Gatsby Benchmarks. We also encourage students to complete online work experience as part of their non-qualification hours; these are usually related to the course they are studying or their core aim to help them gain experience to progress along their chosen career path.
