“I’m going on to study Games Design and Programming at Staffordshire University, with the ambition of securing a career in the games design industry. At College, I really enjoyed learning about games design, as it’s something I’ve always loved. I also developed valuable skills in video editing and coding, which will really help me at university and beyond. The support from my tutors was always good and encouraged me along the way."

“I’m now working as a Police Officer, and my ultimate ambition is to progress into Firearms Police. The part of the course I enjoyed most was the practical days out with my class – they gave me a real insight into police life. I chose this course because it allowed me to experience what working in the police force is really like, and my brother also studied here which made it feel like the right choice. The support from tutors was always at a high level, and I learned so much about what a career in policing involves. My advice to anyone thinking of studying here is simple – put in the hard work, because it’s worth it.”

“I chose to at Wakefield College after attending an Open Event – it felt much more welcoming than other colleges and the tutors were brilliant. I’m going on to study Fine Arts at Sheffield Hallam. My dream is to finish university and one day become a ceramist, as I have a real passion for ceramics. I enjoyed all parts of my course at College, especially ceramics, painting and mixed media. During my time here, I’ve developed lots of skills including presentation, painting, drawing and ceramics, which will all help me as I move on to university. The tutors were always supportive and really helpful throughout. I also got to take part in trips, including a visit to London and two trips to The Hepworth Wakefield, which were really inspiring. My advice to anyone thinking of studying here would be to go for it – the mixed media approach really prepares you for a career in the arts sector.”
