Welcome to Elthorne Park High School

Welcome to Elthorne Park High School. We are a proud community school with the very highest aspirations for our young people. At Elthorne Park our students enjoy fantastic academic success and leave us to go on to some incredible destinations, many going on to exciting courses at Russell Group universities; but we are about far more than just results or university places. We see our role here to be to nurture and develop young people who embody our values, known to everyone here as our ‘5 Ps.’We want our students to be proud, to take pride in their work, in their conduct around school and in their appearance. We want them to be prepared; prepared for every lesson and prepared to succeed in the wide range of courses available to them here at Elthorne Park. It’s important to us that our young people are principled, that they can articulate their opinions and stand up for what is right. We want them to persevere when learning is challenging and not give up, and we want them to participate in all of the wider opportunities available to them at EPHS, whether that’s extra-curricular activities, sports teams, trips, clubs or performances.I hope that our website gives you a useful insight into what a wonderful place Elthorne Park High School is and we go about fulfilling our mission statement ‘Achieving Excellence in a Learning Community.’ Our school is a highly academic yet compassionate and caring learning environment where students and staff can develop and realise their full potential.Steve WardHeadteacher

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Elthorne offers an impressive range of extracurricular activities, catering to diverse interests. Whatever your interests, you'll find a vibrant community to join here. From sports teams and music groups to engaging language clubs and our much-anticipated annual school musical, there's something for everyone. We also actively encourage Sixth Formers to take initiative by establishing their own societies and supporting teachers in leading clubs for younger students, fostering leadership and community spirit. Our timetabled enrichment lessons are highly valued by students, and are designed to equip you with essential skills for higher education and the professional world.

Trips & Visits
An important part of our response to Covid has been to introduce our fifth ‘P’ - participate - and to make up for missed cultural, sporting and outdoor learning experiences during the pandemic. During our Elthorne Wider Opportunities Days (EWOD) every student attends at least one off-site trip per school year; this is fully funded for our disadvantaged students and children in receipt of free school meals are given priority booking for popular off-site trips.
Student Leadership
Offering a wide range of opportunities for student leadership is a key priority at Elthorne. We believe strongly that the benefits of student leadership are wide and varied. At Elthorne Park High School we recognise that every student has the potential to be a successful leader. By integrating student leadership principles into many areas of school life, we ensure that opportunities are created for all of our students to experience these principles and practices. These will improve their leadership skills, benefitting their school life and beyond.
Sports
Our sporting offer has supported many young people to compete at the highest level in their chosen sport while being firmly rooted in an ethos of ‘sport for all’ where boys’ and girls’ sport are valued equally.
