Welcome to Redhill Academy

At Redhill Sixth Form our first aim is to enable our students to fulfil their academic potential. Whilst we emphasise the importance of academic achievement, we also strive to support students in becoming independent, responsible members of their community. We provide extensive extracurricular opportunities and a dedicated programme focused on personal, social and emotional development. Our Destinations programme provides ongoing support for students in preparation for adulthood whether this be in employment, in seeking an apprenticeship or applying for University. High expectations combined with the dedicated support of specialist tutors, teachers and careers advisers ensure that students, whatever their individual needs, can develop self-confidence, fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations. If you would like any further information, help or advice about the Sixth Form or the study programmes we offer, please do not hesitate to contact us.Charlotte BarlowHead of Sixth Form

University

“Redhill sixth form o ers an incredibly diverse range of subjects, allowing students to build
their own path and pursue their interests with targeted and in-depth learning. Sta and
teachers are extremely knowledgeable in their fields, and the specialised support that they
provide to each student is incredible, especially within the sixth form small-classroom setting.
Students are always stretched and challenged, which really gives them room to excel and
reach their potential. Whatever career path they may explore, the guidance that students
receive for future steps is truly invaluable. Outside of the curriculum, extracurricular activities
enrich and provide a varied sixth form experience to everyone. Teaching is complemented by
academic trips, events and opportunities such as our Stellar programme, which allow
students to build upon and stretch their thinking. Finally, it goes without saying that Redhill
Sixth Form is a truly close-knit community. The student body is inclusive, welcoming and
proud to support each other and represent the sixth form."

I check the flight plan, weather, aircraft status and any relevant information for the flight.
I love all parts of the job, but the best bit has to be landing. Disconnecting the autopilot and hand flying a 60-tonne aircraft with nearly 200 people sitting behind you never gets boring! Matt trained in flight theory and physical flying instruction for seven years to gain his pilot's licenses.
