Good grades at A‑level count for a great deal but competition for places, particularly at the most prestigious colleges, universities and employers is fierce. Increasingly, they look not just for good qualifications but also for evidence that students have spent time in the Sixth Form developing other qualities – interpersonal skills, leadership and the willingness to contribute to the life of the community.
