Welcome to Orion Coopers

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Sixth Form page.In the Sixth Form we are focussed on ensuring that all students achieve a positive destination at the end of their post-sixteen study. With this in mind, we are rigorous in ensuring that students are enrolled onto the right courses. Our curriculum is a mix of traditional A-Levels and other Level 3 equivalent qualification, such as BTEC Nationals.Given our focus on destinations, we have a well resourced CEIAG programme in the Sixth Form. Students receive a significant amount of information about Higher Education, Apprenticeships and future career options. We deliver this through both our PHSE curriculum and wider CEIAG programme. We have high expectations of student conduct and behaviour. Students in the Sixth Form are role models and have opportunities to support other pupils in the lower school. Consequently we expect the highest standards both in and out of the classroom for all our students. There are opportunities for students to develop themselves outside of the classroom. The school offers several enrichment activities that post-sixteen students can engage in. We have the Orion Coopers Diploma that provides students with the opportunity to develop wider transferable skills such as problem solving, teamwork and resilience. As part of the Diploma students must complete meaningful work experience, volunteering and an Extended Essay. If you have any enquires about the Sixth Form, please feel free to contact me via e-mail on jhamilton@orioncoopers.org.uk.Mr HamiltonDeputy Headteacher & Head of Sixth Form
