HomeSchool Profile

Welcome to The Queen Katherine School

The QKS Sixth Form is housed within its own building and boasts excellent accommodation including well-equipped classrooms, computer suites, private study and social areas and a coffee and refreshment bar.Our Sixth Form community consists of 200 students, many of whom have been at the school since Year 7 but a significant number join us from other schools. All students’ attainment is exceptional and we are very proud to be placed in the top 3% of the country for progress. Our students do not get lost in the crowd. We pride ourselves on the level of care and support we provide to every individual and take time to get to know each student’s interests, needs and aspirations. This uniquely personal approach is a major factor in many students choosing to join us over other colleges and school Sixth Forms.Students are able to choose from a new suite of academic, technical and professional qualifications. We cater for all ability levels offering three curriculum pathways: A level only, A level mixed with BTEC and exclusively BTEC. We are equally as proud of the students who regularly achieve places at Oxbridge, or study degrees such as Medicine and Dentistry, as we are of those students who leave us to undertake higher apprenticeships in leading businesses, or who enter the world of work.
