Welcome to Queensmead School
I am delighted that you are considering Queensmead School for your Post 16 education.
Our Post 16 students benefit from superb facilities, including our well-appointed Post 16 Common Room for our students to enjoy during their private study sessions as well as before school, at break times and after school should they wish. This recently refurbished facility only adds to our already outstanding teaching and learning, exceptionally well resourced facilities and bespoke pathways support to ensure that all students go on to fulfil their ambition and potential. As part of their studies, all Post 16 students will receive a Google Chromebook on loan from the school to support them with their learning while in school and at home.
Queensmead School continues to outperform most local schools as well as perform admirably when compared to schools nationally, both at GCSE and Post 16. Our comprehensive curriculum offer, which includes both A Level and vocational Level 3 courses, means we are able to cater for a wide range of different students, regardless of their prior attainment and subject preference. Our curriculum offer is supplemented by a host of enrichment and extracurricular activities throughout their two year course, which students can get involved with to provide them with experiences outside of the classroom.
As a school, we will leave no stone unturned when it comes to supporting each and every one of our students throughout their programme of study, while ensuring they receive all of the necessary support to allow them to go on and pursue their next steps - whether that’s a place at university, an apprenticeship or employment. I very much look forward to welcoming you to Queensmead School.

Enrichment Activities
Show all activitiesAll students will be offered the opportunity to take on the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), an additional qualification that offers UCAS points and can lead to reduced offers from universities upon completion. Our team of experienced EPQ tutors offer small group classes in Year 13 to guide students through the process, allowing students to develop their independent learning skills.
We pride ourselves on the number of trip opportunities that we provide to enhance our students understanding of the subjects that they study. In previous years, trips have been run to Iceland, Pompeii, Rome, Morocco and New York City. Students will also be invited to rewards trips based on their attendance and attitude to learning in lessons.
Students have the opportunity to join our Values Team. These students are members of our community who go above and beyond in displaying our Queensmead Values of Kindness, Resilience, Independence and Respect. They help members of staff and younger students with school events such as charity fundraisers, inter-form activities and other student led initiatives.
