Welcome to Norton College

It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you our sixth form at Norton College. I am very fortunate to lead our sixth form and I look forward to supporting you in your post‑16 journey. Choosing your sixth form subjects is a very exciting time and it is your first opportunity to specialise in subjects that can support you in developing your skills, interests, and talents. Over the two years you will be studying with us you will receive excellent mentoring and pastoral support, which supports the high‑quality teaching and learning within the college.

You will have the chance to be part of something bigger, to be a role model to other students and to contribute and shape our sixth form moving forward. You will become more independent and widen your horizons ready for your life beyond Norton College.

To support this you will take part in our varied enrichment offer that gives you the opportunity to gain additional qualifications, volunteer in the local community or as part of the Student Leadership Team and you will have the chance to gain meaningful work experience to support your career aspirations. The enrichment afternoon supports you to broaden your knowledge and understanding that will support you when you move onto higher education, a higher level apprenticeship or employment.

Over the last 5 years, our students have achieved excellent results and we enjoy sharing the success of our students when they leave us to progress to university or a career of their choice. We are incredibly proud of our students who have studied at sixth form, their achievements and destinations and it is always great to welcome them back as alumni, to be guest speakers, deliver assemblies and workshops to inspire our current students.

Enrichment at Norton College Sixth Form is an essential part of our students’ journey. The Enrichment Programme takes place every Wednesday afternoon for two hours giving our students the opportunity to pursue academic and personal interests. The programme is divided into the super-curricular (taking your studies further than the classroom) and extra-curricular with a wide range of qualifications available for university, apprenticeship, and job applications.
