Welcome to St Anselm's College

Thank you for your interest in the 6th Form at St Anselm’s College. We are a high performing 6th Form and our A Level (GCE) results always display significant value added from GCSE results. Twice in the past 4 years we have produced the best A Level results of any Boy’s 6th Form in Wirral and our post 16 value added is consistently the best of the Boy’s Grammar Schools. We offer more than 20 6th Form courses, across the curriculum, so there is something for everyone. Every year many Anselmians secure outstanding A Level results, including 3 or 4 A* grades, and progress to leading universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, the Russell Group and medical school. Some students prefer a vocational route and secure Higher Level apprenticeships. Our curriculum and teaching are geared to the needs of all 6th Formers. We do not have an external limit on numbers to 6th Form, admittance is based on the Entry Criteria of 5 x 5 GCSE’s and at least a 6 in the subjects they wish to study at A Level (or 7 for Maths and Physics) In the 6th form at St Anselm’s College, we provide a structured, supportive learning environment that encourages and facilitates academic, cultural, spiritual and personal development. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, and there are excellent relations between students and teachers. Our 6th Form is essentially academic in nature, with some 90% of our leavers going on to Higher Education after the successful completion of their A‑level courses.
