Welcome to Haybridge High School and Sixth Form

The Sixth Form at Haybridge is an established and distinctive part of an exceptional school and offers a unique experience in that it combines the flexibility and independence of a college education with the support, range of opportunities and continuity of a school Sixth Form. As part of a Multi Academy Trust with access to a Teaching School Hub and SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) with an excellent reputation, we are absolutely delighted to be at the forefront of current thinking in education and we aim to combine the established values of a traditional school with the best of modern ideas and practice. Students enjoy contemporary, purpose-built accommodation, excellent teaching by a team of highly qualified teachers with a track record of success at A Level, and a Sixth Form Support Team skilled and experienced in areas such as UCAS, Apprenticeships, Oxford and Cambridge University applications, and employment and training opportunities. Universities, training institutions, and employers look very favourably upon students who have taken the opportunity to challenge themselves and expand their knowledge and experiences beyond the classroom and we offer a full range of opportunities to do this. These enrichment opportunities include: fundraising, the Extended Project Qualification, Core Mathematics, and finance based qualifications through the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. There are also university based masterclasses and community and charity events. Sixth Formers can also become Reading Buddies or take part in our ‘Adopt a Teacher’ scheme, helping younger students in the school, as well as taking on a leadership role as part of the Officer Team. Our Officer Team is led by the Head Students and Student Leadership Team who take the lead on student voice in the school. We encourage students to get involved and there are opportunities for students to take part in work experience and to join activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award or take a role in one of the school music or drama performances. The Haybridge Sixth Form is a happy community that encourages all young people to prosper and grow and provides an all-round education that allows our students to move into the next phase of their life with the qualifications, experiences and skills which will ensure success as well as a commitment to lifelong learning. I do hope that you will be able to visit us and spend time talking to the students and staff and I look forward to meeting you when you do.
