Welcome to Nene Park Academy

Welcome from the Head of Sixth FormNene Park Academy Sixth Form has grown significantly over the past few years. This growth has come not only from a greater number of our own students staying on, but also by increasing numbers of students from other schools actively choosing our Academy for their continued studies. We are proud that these students make the choice to come to Nene Park Academy and we extend a particularly warm welcome to our external students. The quality and range of subjects we offer here makes Nene Park Academy an ideal choice for your Post-16 education. 2023 saw the opening of a brand new building with state-of-the art study facilities. Students at Nene Park Academy will enjoy the use of a purpose built space, with silent work areas, bookable rooms and IT facilities. We also have exclusive dining areas dedicated for use by our Sixth Form Students. We are a Sixth Form with high standards. We operate a standard entrance requirement which consists of five GCSE subjects at a minimum grade 4 or the equivalent including Maths and English. Individual course requirements are set out in the various subject statements which can be seen on this website. These specific entry requirements are set to help guide your choices and ensure you are on the appropriate courses to enable you to achieve your full potential. At Nene Park Academy we believe that as Sixth Formers, you have a duty to play an active role in the rest of the Academy. We encourage our Sixth Form Students to take on leadership roles across the Academy. Your guidance during your time with us, will come from your Academic Mentor. Your mentor will guide your progress through the Academy providing one to one support throughout your time in the Sixth Form and crucially during the UCAS University application process. In addition, mentor seminar sessions will be run by the Academic Mentors during tutor time to add breadth and depth to your studies with us.Personal Development lessons are bespoke and written specifically to the needs and demands of our Sixth Form students. Both Year 12 and 13 sessions will focus on developing the skills that you will need for your next steps after Sixth Form regardless of the path that you decide to take. Linked to Personal Development, all students will have an Experience lesson. This could be studying for an EPQ or Sports Leaders Award, developing cookery skills or using the fitness suite to gain fitness related qualifications. We look forward to working with you to realise your aspirations and potential.

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Our Sixth Form enrichment programme provides a breadth of experience for your development as a confident adult. We recognise the importance of personal development opportunities and therefore support and monitor the individual programmes for each student through our Academic Mentoring system. This runs alongside Sixth Form students' full immersion into the Academy's House system and vertical tutoring programme, giving them the best of both worlds in terms of pastoral and academic support, in what is probably the most important two years of their education.

Extended Project Qualification
Students can choose to undertake an additional academic qualification allowing them to explore in depth, subjects they wish to pursue at a higher level.
