Welcome to Leigh Academy Hundred of Hoo
I am delighted to welcome you to Leigh Academy Hundred of Hoo, a place where good manners and etiquette combine with 21st Century innovation and creativity to create leaders of the future. I genuinely care about the life chances of all young people, and as the Principal of Leigh Academy Hundred of Hoo, I find the prospect of being instrumental in raising aspirations and attainment in this community enormously exciting. I am proud to work in education and believe that at the centre of everything we do is the individual child.
Leigh Academy Hundred of Hoo is a Middle Years Programme (MYP) candidate school and we approach learning, teaching and living in the spirit of the International Baccalaureate, appreciating that academic learning is very important but not the only measure of success. We provide a curriculum that challenges students to solve problems, show creativity and resourcefulness, act with integrity and participate actively in our community.
At Leigh Academy Hundred of Hoo we have high expectations of our pupils, hence we are a well disciplined academy, where pupils thrive in a culture defined by mutual respect and good behaviour. Pupils should all wear the correct uniform and be fully equipped for learning, they should have excellent attendance and arrive on time. We see parents and carers as our partners and work closely with families to secure the best possible outcomes for their children. We believe passionately that education transforms lives, that there is no ceiling to achievement and we are extremely proud of the academic progress that our pupils make. Our results improve year on year and are a testament to the collective hard work of pupils, staff and parents.
We have uncompromising aspirations for all of our pupils, and will work relentlessly to allow every pupil to reach their potential within a nurturing community. Every pupil matters; every pupil can achieve; every lesson counts. Through innovation and creative thinking, we will work tirelessly to ensure that every child leaves secondary education with all the skills required to lead a productive, successful, and most importantly, a happy adult life.
I warmly thank you for your interest in our academy. Whether you are interested in sending your child here, or are interested in working here, you can be assured that this is a brilliant school.
Mr Carl Guerin-Hassett | Principal
