Welcome to Royal Latin School

A very warm welcome to the Royal Latin Sixth Form. Almost all students arrive at the Royal Latin in Year Seven and stay for seven years and we are delighted to welcome students who join us from other schools for 6th Form study. We are incredibly proud of our high achieving Sixth Form:. In 2024 the school’s A Level results placed us amongst the highest achieving schools in the country: A*- A 55%Our Sixth Form Centre has been fully refurbished at a cost of over £1 million and provides superb university style study facilities, as well as Cafe 6 which provides a more sociable area.Students take part in a range of activities whilst in the Sixth Form, from the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award to Outlook Expeditions to India and Costa Rica. The school has high expectations and students are encouraged to take advantage of the many great opportunities available to them. We encourage all students to show the potential for leadership and to make a positive contribution to not only the school but the wider community. Each year, the school admits between 40 and 60 new students into Sixth Form (Year 12). We welcome applications from students who are predicted good grades in at least eight GCSEs (including English (Language or Literature) and Mathematics at a minimum of Grade 6).Jason SkyrmeHead of Sixth Form

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
We believe that an outstanding education should also involve opportunities to learn in a variety of settings.

Enrichment Days
We run two enrichment days where all students are off timetable. These provide opportunities to develop skills that underpin our LATIN ethos beyond the academic curriculum.
Curricular and extracurricular trips and visits
Learning beyond the classroom remains important across subjects. Examples of trips include visits to The Natural History Museum, enrichment and residential trips to the Isle of Wight and Caldecotte Lake and exchange and cultural visits to other countries such as France, Spain and Germany.
Community
This programme is supported by our Y9 and Y12 students and highly valued by primary colleagues; Year 11 students provide reading and/or Maths support to Year 4 students at a local Primary School; our strong relationship with three local special schools provides a variety of volunteering opportunities; all Year 12 students are expected to undertake volunteering in Year 12.
