Welcome to Accrington St Christopher's Church of England High School

We are pleased that you are considering St Christopher’s Sixth Form, and hope you find everything you need on our website.

Our Sixth Form has now been open for eleven years, during which time we have been proud to have many students pass through our community and go on to be successful in great universities, high level apprenticeships and good careers. Former students of St Christopher’s Sixth Form now work and live throughout the UK and abroad, and it is wonderful that they keep in touch so we can follow their exciting and diverse careers.

After the last very challenging 18 months, we are all very glad to be back and having lessons as normal and supporting our students as they start the A-level journey or as they look to future Universities, Apprenticeships or work. Despite the difficulties they faced, our students this year have received fantastic results and are now off to their chosen destinations, with exciting times ahead.

At St Christopher’s we strive to put the Gospel at the heart of all
we do. This has been even more evident over recent months as our Sixth Form community has pulled together to support one another. As we said goodbye to our Year 13s in August and wished them well for the future we look forward to welcoming all the students who will follow them.

Come and see us at Open Evening, arrange a visit or look at our virtual Open Evening on our website and discover how St Christopher’s can be part of your success story.

Christopher Chilvers

University

Studying at St Christopher’s provided me with a means to communicate in a visual language and explore a diverse range of media in which I could realise design ideas. From communicating with peers and studio tutors to engineers and urban planners, these skills continue to be essential to my current studies in architecture.

The course, and my incredible teachers, helped me to solidify my own beliefs, while continually prompting fascinating challenges and forcing me to ask questions I had never previously considered.

Further study to become a teacher. By studying history, I was able to develop a strong foundation of key skills, learning how to think critically and write effectively, before transitioning to the subject at university.
