Welcome to Northwood School

At Northwood Sixth Form every student is treated as an individual, supported and encouraged to develop and thrive during their time with us. With small class sizes, we can ensure that students get personalised support, attend lessons that are tailored to their needs and receive detailed, regular feedback from their teachers. Our students often praise the quality of lessons as well as the dedication and commitment of their teachers.

In Northwood Sixth Form, our students achieve excellent results and go off to many of the most prestigious universities and degree apprenticeship providers in the country.

Our students also receive fantastic pastoral support from the sixth form team. Every student completes the Northwood Diploma during year 12 which enables them to explore and develop wider interests and experiences beyond their A Level study. We provide extensive individualised support with UCAS and apprenticeship applications, work experience and we encourage and guide our students to take advantage of a range of phenomenal opportunities such as summer schools, university visits and courses and local lectures, to name just a few.

Our sixth form students are leaders and role models in the school. They work closely with younger students, helping out in extra curricular clubs, providing homework support, carrying out prefect duties and even supporting in some lessons. Each year, I am proud to watch our sixth formers grow in confidence, maturity and in their academic work.

Students at Northwood Sixth Form take part in a wide range of non-qualification activities which support them in developing a range of “soft skills”. Unique to Northwood School, all Northwood Sixth Formers are working towards their Northwood Diploma. This offers Sixth Form Students a wealth of enrichment experiences which develop their independence and resilience. Crucially it allows them to acquire skills which they will need beyond the classroom and in the world of work.
