Welcome to Sacred Heart High School

Sacred Heart Sixth Form is a caring and dynamic Sixth Form, offering a wide range of A Level subjects and BTEC courses in a smaller class size setting - because we are not vast, we take time to get to know and treat every Sixth Former as an individual. Thus, we can offer a level of guidance and care not available elsewhere. As a result, many of our Sixth Formers develop a close relationship with their subject teachers, Form Tutors and with the Head of Year and Head of Sixth Form. We pride ourselves on good communication with students and with their parents. We are an outstanding Sixth Form as demonstrated in our Ofsted report 2023 and most recently being ranked by ALPs in the top 25% of all schools and Sixth Forms nationally in terms of progress and value added. We provide outstanding teaching - with a world-class designation as a High Performance Learning (HPL) school, recognizing the potential of each individual student. Our care begins with the help we offer in choosing A Level and BTEC subjects and then continues in our close monitoring of academic progress. We help students, to reach their academic potential and then make the right decisions for the future. We also offer a variety of enrichment and extracurricular activities, including trips; debating society, music events including Battle of the Bands; sporting activities including our rowing club; and both Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Our excellent pastoral care and guidance, is special at Sacred Heart and tailored to meet the needs of today’s young adults. In addition to Pastoral Support Managers, we also employ our own in house team of counsellors and psychotherapists. We have dedicated Sixth Form facilities including reserved study areas and our extensive Sixth Form Common Room with a places to work but also sofas for more relaxed chats and socialising.Sixth Form is very definitely a time for self-development and fun, and we offer a wide range of activities which reflect the emphasis we put on helping students to become happy, well-balanced and successful young people. We believe the Sixth Form at Sacred Heart provides an excellent education and is the perfect stepping stone for university, college and life beyond full-time education. It is our aim that by the time that our Sixth Formers leave school, they have become mature, successful, well-rounded young people, with a strong set of moral values to guide them through adult life.We are keen to welcome applications from all students. Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Sixth Form life is demanding and while we expect you to rise to the challenges set by your teaching staff, we firmly believe that education is not confined to your subjects. In order to enjoy the experience of being a Sixth Form student, you need to fully immerse yourself into extra-curricular/enrichment activities. At Sacred Heart High Sixth Form we aim to provide you with a broad and exciting range of opportunities so that you are in the best possible position to go on to further study, work and become a positive member of the community. As such, we have a variety of opportunities on offer outside of lessons. Including both opportunities to participate in academic enrichment for example join our Janet Erskine Stuart programme or extra-curricular opportunities for example rowing. Academic Enrichment We see part of our role at Sacred Heart High Sixth Form to support you in making the most competitive application to higher education, apprenticeship or employment as possible. Feedback from these institutions indicates the value that they place on students being able to showcase enthusiasm, passion and commitment to their studies that goes beyond their exam syllabus. As a result, we offer opportunities that will enable you to build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your wider knowledge of your subjects. These opportunities are wide ranging but include offering the option to complete an EPQ, participate in the Lumina Programme, Sutton Trust Programme, Oxnet, Imperial Medical Experience and the Janet Stuart Programme. We are also maintain many partnerships including being a member of the West London Partnership alongside other local private and state schools and through this partnership students get many enrichment opportunities offered to them throughout their time at Sixth Form. Extra-Cirricular There is a huge range of extra-curricular activities on offer at Sacred Heart High including rowing, netball, music groups, language clubs and more! Please see the termly clubs timetable for these which is shared each term. Sixth Form students are also encouraged to set up their own activities or societies and support teachers in running clubs for younger students. If they wish to do this they should speak to their Tutor in the first instance and then approach relevant staff.
