Welcome to Tarporley High School and Sixth Form College

Here at Tarporley Sixth Form College we are very proud of the standards achieved by past and present students across all areas of Sixth Form life. We are committed to making Tarporley Sixth Form a ‘Beacon of Excellence’ and we make no apologies for expecting the very best from our students; consequently we push them very hard. Our results at Advanced level study over a number of years show that we have a very effective recipe for success. We aim to prepare our students for the academic and personal challenges they will face in future years. Our Sixth Form students are leaders and role models and we have high expectations of them. Students are expected to work with commitment to their studies. The adult atmosphere within the Sixth Form means that students have more responsibility for their own learning and greater independence to manage their time effectively. We do, however, provide support and opportunities for all our students so that they can achieve their potential, providing the best possible platform for their future. Our Sixth Form centre provides the perfect environment for our students to succeed. Our modern and spacious study room is a great space in which to work and our common room and cafeteria are areas in which students can relax or study more informally.

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Enrichment activities are an integral part of the Sixth Form and students are actively encouraged to participate in the diverse range of academic and super curricular activities on offer. In place to compliment the excellent teaching and learning that our students are accustomed to, they provide opportunities for our students to develop crucial interpersonal skills which will prepare them to succeed in their chosen future pathway.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
There are many leadership roles that students may consider applying for. From Head Student to Subject Mentor, we cover every possibility. Some students take an active role in supporting teachers in Key Stage 3 or 4 lessons, whilst others may undertake formal Mental Health and Mentoring training, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to effectively support our younger students in lower school.
ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT
Learning beyond the classroom is pivotal to a young person’s success at A level and students are encouraged to undertake wider reading, attend online courses and webinars as well as gain practical experiences where possible. Some subjects offer opportunities to attend educational visits, some examples of activities that have taken place recently are:
UCAS and Oxbridge Conventions
Extended Project Qualification
Tarporley Sixth Form Careers Fair
