Welcome to Trinity School
At Trinity, our dedicated team of Sixth Form teachers and tutors work tirelessly to ensure that students maximise their academic and personal potential. We pride ourselves on small teaching groups so that you can get the most out of your subjects. We are able to say that all our students who applied to University went to their chosen institution last year. However, at Trinity we not only pride ourselves on delivering academic success but we also strive to ensure that you get the best support to develop as an individual. We run a comprehensive Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) programme throughout year 12 and 13 to help give you the skills that you will need when you leave education. An integral component of Trinity’s high performance is its strong House system. This is continued in the Sixth Form where our students are expected to act as role models to the rest of their House and the school in general. As such we are looking for people who are committed and conscientious and not afraid to take the lead to make things happen. Don’t worry if you are not quite there yet, we will help and guide you to achieve these qualities. Trinity 6th Formers are expected to be proactive and to be the driving forces behind the House competitions as well as being role models for our younger students. Here at Trinity we take great pride in helping students achieve above and beyond their potential, but we also care about getting the little things right. Your interaction with the people around you, is what marks you out as a person, and it is our goal to ensure that, regardless of academic ability, you will leave here with the skills to be a valued, caring member of your community.Mr R WatkinsAssistant Headteacher, Head of Sixth Form

Employed
A levels studied: Sociology, Dance and Health and Social Care. She took BSc Honours First Class Degree in University of Birmingham. My career to date has been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. I have delivered well over 1,000 babies. I feel very fortunate because this is something not many people get to do. I have always been very interested in midwifery and it was something I was very determined to be successful in. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Trinity, I was Head Girl and also played a big part in the performing arts calendar each and every year. I took part in every Christmas concert and played Glinda in The Wiz.

University courses: Currently studying undergraduate BA (Hons) in English Literature with the Open University, Level 5 TEFL. Ever since I moved from Portugal with my family, Trinity was always a place where I felt like I belonged – even though I joined halfway through a school year and spoke a completely different language! The sense of community and belonging at Trinity School was reassuring and encouraging, and it helped me to grow into the individual that I am today. The range of subjects available to study at Trinity, activities, clubs and competitions meant that I was always participating and broadening my horizons, as well as learning what I enjoyed and taking part in new events. Through the school’s emphasis on personal excellence and collective responsibility, I am incredibly proud of where I am today with my education, as well as my professional journey.

Apprenticeship
A levels studied: Geography, History, French, Sociology, EPQ. University courses: University of Exeter, BA (Hons) in History with Proficiency in Advanced French. After completing my A-Levels and leaving Trinity in 2021, I went on to study History at Exeter, where I soon became involved in the student newspaper Exeposé! This encouraged me to channel a lifelong passion for journalism and media into a (semi-)professional outlet, and I rose to become the newspaper’s Deputy Editor in my final year. Drawing on this student media experience, as well as work experience with local newspaper Newbury Weekly News, I obtained a place on the competitive BBC News journalist apprenticeship, considered the best journalism apprenticeship scheme in the country, after five rounds of interviews and assessments. As of September 2024, I now work at the iconic BBC Broadcasting House in London alongside the team on the BBC News Channel, producing and researching the stories that have made the BBC the most successful and famous news outlet in the world, whilst also studying for a Level 7 qualification in journalism.
