Welcome to Copthall School

I am delighted to welcome you to the Sixth Form pages of our website. Here at Copthall our ambition is for our students to be aspirational, responsible and fulfilled individuals, and we ensure every aspect of our educational offer facilitates this. Our students’ university destinations are a testament to this ambition, with 70% of the class of 2023 accepting offers from their priority choices. 13% of our students placed at prestigious Russell Group universities this year, including King’s College, the London School of Economics and Queen Mary University. We are thrilled that our students are going on to study in a range of fields, such as Law, Architecture, Psychology and Fine Art.We strive to offer a rich and varied curriculum that meets the needs of our school community. Our academic and vocational offer is supplemented with a pastoral curriculum that provides personalised support on key topics such as student wellbeing, study skills, and university choices. We also provide fortnightly enrichment sessions to broaden students’ educational experiences. Through this programme, students take part in an array of activities including university talks, skills workshops, self-defence and cooking. In addition, we have a dedicated Careers Advisor who works with students individually to ensure they are offered up-to-date and personalised advice on how to achieve their chosen career. Our Careers Advisor also assists our students with their work experience, facilitating links with a range of different employers. Some examples of previous work experiences placements are as follows: The Home Office, University College Hospital London, Elysium Healthcare, eBay, law firms such as UBS, Evershed Sutherland and Grower Freeman, and various other financial, health and education institutions. We also benefit from professional links with Salesforce, Barry M, Royal Ballet Company, The Department for Work and Pensions and London & Quadrant, alongside hosting numerous visitors from companies all over London and the UK. Such connections enable our young people to benefit from real world experience, and support them in making the right choices about their futures. Alongside this, Copthall School also has a partnership with Mill Hill Independent School, which offers a range of opportunities from trips, talks and academic challenges to joint school events.Students in our sixth form have access to excellent facilities, including our Sixth Form Centre, with its own café, two sixth form-only study areas, and a newly refurbished school library and resource centre. Such spaces enable our students to work independently outside of their timetabled lessons. The sixth form at Copthall offers wide-ranging leadership experiences: we provide mentoring opportunities to encourage our sixth form students to be role models for the lower school. We also have a Student Leadership Team, comprising of the Head and Deputy Head Girls, alongside the Senior Prefects, which works hard to promote our values to wider school community:RespectEquality for allSupport and SafetyResponsibilityAspirationTo get a true sense of our school and sixth form, I encourage you to read the messages on our website from our wonderful co-Head Girls, Alisha and Isabelle. We very much look forward to welcoming you to Copthall Sixth Form.Ms Jenny HarrisAssistant Headteacher / Director of Sixth Form
