Welcome to King's School

King's School was envisioned and brought into being by a small group of parents who care deeply about our local area and its people. They wanted to bring an inclusive, high-performing, Christian secondary school to Brighton and Hove and King's is the result of their determined efforts and the fantastic support they received from the local community, as well as from the Russell Education Trust, our academy sponsor.

Our aim at King's School RET is for every child to reach their full academic and personal potential within a caring, Christian environment in which they are fully known and valued.

King's is a mainstream Church of England secondary school situated in the Hangleton area of Hove. Everything we do in school is centred around our four core Biblical values of Love, Forgiveness, Respect and Responsibility. Through these values we aim to educate, inspire, and enable every member of our community to flourish holistically.

Students at King's are happy and safe. They perform incredibly well in public exams and enjoy their learning. They are very well supported by a skilled and dedicated staff team. They are articulate, confident, young people who understand the importance of kindness.

I hope you enjoy browsing this website and finding out more about our distinctive, happy, learning community.

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
We run three 'Enrichment Days' per academic year, where the whole school is off timetable for the day, engaged in a range of enriching activities. During their time at King's we aim for all students to experience the following through our Enrichment Days:

Overnight Residential Trip

Careers education and input on post-16 education choices

Extended opportunities for PSHE learning

Opportunities to join trips within the UK and abroad

for example, in the past we have taken students on day trips to France; on residential trips to the WW1 trenches in Belgium; on ski trips; on MFL trips to Berlin; and on trips to London for various enriching activities.
