Wayne Sellers

September 2006

Employed

I attended The Holgate Academy and sixth form from 2000 to 2008, and I look back on my time there with great fondness. Although I wasn’t the most academic student when I started secondary school, the dedication and care shown by many of the Holgate staff helped nurture my potential and inspire my growth – both academically and personally.

Patrik Holodnak

September 2021

Apprenticeship

My name is Patrik Holodnak, and I attended The Holgate Academy from 2016 to 2021, followed by the sixth form from 2021 to 2023. The lessons I learned during my time at The Holgate Academy have shaped me into the person I am today. Through all the good times, laughter, and support from great staff, I was able to mould myself into a more confident version of my past self, always striving to improve in every aspect of my life.

Charlotte Scott

September 2014

Employed

I attended The Holgate Academy from 2011 to 2016 and the Hucknall Sixth Form Centre (HSFC) from 2016 to 2018. Having lived in Hucknall for most of my life, I followed in the footsteps of many family members by attending Holgate.

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Whether you’re interested in dance, drama, music, sports, the environment, or you have a passion for leading and organising charitable events, we offer plenty of opportunities outside of the curriculum. Our sixth form extra-curricular programme is for students, by students, meaning that if you have the passion and interest to make something happen, and are committed to making it a success, we will support you.

Leadership
As a sixth form student you will have more freedom to take up roles of responsibility to further develop your skills, interests, and capabilities. We expect our sixth form students to engage in leadership roles to further develop their further education experience.
Trips and visits programme
We arrange several UK and international trips linked to specific courses. These opportunities give space for students to visit new locations, be open to learning about new cultures, and experience life outside of their normal learning environment. We also strongly encourage students to attend a variety of university open days, careers fairs, and other events that inform them and prepare them for the many routes and pathways ahead.
