Welcome to Westfield Academy

The Westfield Academy ethos of high expectations and individual care and support continues into Sixth Form. Our Sixth Form is increasing in popularity as students' outcomes continually improve across a wide range of A-Level and Vocational courses. Our students are provided with the best opportunities possible.Life as a Sixth Form student is both exciting and challenging. At Westfield Academy students are progressively given more autonomy and independence alongside support and guidance, to focus on their full potential being met.Sixth Form students have their own common room and quiet study areas but are still very much part of the Academy. To encourage inclusive academic development, all Sixth Formers are part of a society dependent on subjects being studied and the career path that they aspire to. Sixth Formers are encouraged to be part of a committee, to enhance social development. These opportunities along with a strong student voice play an important role in a students' academic, social and personal development and in the organisation of the Academy. In addition to exemplary teaching and learning, our Sixth Formers enjoy a wide range of trips and activities. This is reinforced by a rigorous pastoral programme, developing social and personal development which students receive all the way through their time at Westfield Academy.Students’ progress is constantly monitored through regular assessments, interviews and reports as well as parent consultation evenings, to ensure that they are achieving to the very best of their ability. Our overriding priorities for Westfield Academy Sixth Form are:To promote and provide a holistic education where we celebrate achievement, academic excellence, creativity and personal growth. To support students in understanding the value of courtesy, hard work and respect. To provide opportunities which enrich our students’ lives now and in the future.

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
The enrichment programme is compulsory for all Year 12 students. It provides learning experiences that go beyond the standard curriculum and is designed to enhance students' knowledge, skills, and personal development. Enrichment activities develop new interests, and build essential life skills. Examples of enrichment activities are; reading to Year 7 students in form time, assisting teachers in KS3 or 4 lessons that correspond to the subjects studied or mentoring students in lower year groups. Rewards are given for those students working above and beyond enrichment expectations.
