SECONDARY
SIXTH FORM
Welcome to City of Norwich School, An Ormiston Academy
It is an incredible privilege to work within the sixth form at CNS. We are proud of our students, the results that they achieve and the wonderful opportunities that they experience while with us. You are able to choose from an incredibly broad list of subjects at CNS and have a free choice to mix and match subjects to suit your strengths and aspirations. As a sixth form, we thrive in offering you the chance to be more independent in your approach to learning. We are well-suited to help with the transition to higher education and beyond and have excellent facilities for you to use during your independent study periods to ensure that you have space to work. You will have access to a study hall, study centre and library during study periods, as well as all the subject resources you need. Sixth formers have their own café and library area in our dedicated sixth form building. Moving to sixth form at CNS will give you the opportunity to meet new people, benefit from excellent teaching (with hours well over the national average) and study in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere. Employed
I was at CNS from 2012-2019. I did French, German and PE at GCSE and then French, German and English combined language and literature at A-level.
At sixth form I did a GCSE in Spanish as my enrichment. I was also involved in humanities clubs (Debating and Amnesty) and the drama department extracurriculars such as the musicals and dance shows. I played for the cricket, netball and rounders teams and ran for the cross country and athletics clubs.
Since I left almost 6 years ago, I have been busy! First I moved to Germany and worked as an au-pair for a gap year. Then I started my degree at Heriot-Watt University where I studied a Master of Arts in Interpreting and Translation (German and Spanish). During my degree I completed two semesters abroad, one in Seville, Spain and the other in Vienna, Austria. I then moved to NYC for three months after receiving the Fiona Watson memorial scholarship which included a three month internship at the UN Secretariat and the funding to complete it. I am now back in Norwich and starting to work at a language school as a social programme coordinator. Throughout this time I have consistently been employed and have worked in events catering, at exciting venues such as Holyrood Palace, the National Museum of Scotland and the entire month of the royal Edinburgh military tattoo. I have also worked as an au pair in Spain for the last three summers and run English summer schools for children.

I’m Posy-Bluebell and I am alumna of CNS, and now a Theatre Producer in London. I was at CNS for both high school and sixth form, from 2013-2020.
For my A-Levels I studied History, English Literature and Drama, but my time at sixth form was sadly cut short due to covid. I loved all things theatre and music at school, and enjoyed contributing to wider school life through student leadership positions. Also, I was a proud member of Holkham! Since leaving CNS I studied Theatre at the University of York, where I developed a passion for theatre producing. I have since produced independently for my own theatre company, and have freelance produced for the National Theatre. Now, I live and work in London producing commercial musical theatre. Most recently, I worked on Come Alive! The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular, which was a lot of fun. I like living in London because there are over 200 theatres, and I try to see as many shows as possible for research purposes, but also just for fun. Last year I went to the theatre 56 times (luckily with the help of various free or reduced price tickets)!
