Welcome to Queen's Park High School
Welcome to the Sixth Form at Queen's Park High School
Our Sixth Form is at the heart of our school and the values and expectations we hold are built on the ethos of high expectations, developing the potential in each individual and providing a supportive environment which we nurture throughout the rest of the school. We are very proud of our students; both their academic achievements and the social development which they undertake as they prepare for adulthood.
Choosing what and where to study post 16 is very challenging. Students will need to be confident that they will be getting the best advice and teaching possible, in a safe, happy and friendly environment. They will also need supportive friends and caring teachers to maximise their potential. We believe the Sixth Form at Queen’s Park High has all of this and much more. Our Sixth Form enables students of all abilities to grow and develop through traditional academic routes, vocational pathways and wider opportunities.
The Sixth Form’s performance is consistently good and most students take up a place in their first choice university at the end of their study. We also ensure that students have guidance around alternatives to university and a greater number are going on to very successful apprenticeships in multi-national companies.
We work hard to ensure we offer the largest number of courses possible that build on students’ previous experience and achievements, and are creative in our approach to ensure choice.
“Learners are very positive about the sixth form. They feel the range of choices is good; the support they receive is helpful and they have confidence that they will reach their targets. They praise the quality of careers advice and feel very well informed about choices before they entered the sixth form and what options are available to them when they leave.”
Ofsted (2016)
We place a strong emphasis on the development of a wide range of personal qualities and social skills. Our Sixth Form Enrichment Programme is bursting with opportunities to do something which makes individuals stand out from the crowd and our super-curriculum enhances the enrichment of students' subject knowledge and supports their applications to the most prestigious of universities.

Our Sixth Form facilities are excellent, with designated, bespoke study areas and a social area.
‘The Henry Rogers Sixth Form Centre’
Henry was in the Sixth Form at Queen's Park when he tragically lost his life at the Hillsborough disaster. Shortly after that the family set up the Henry Rogers Memorial Fund to support students at the school in memory of their son. The fund has supported some renovation of the centre and the inclusion of a kitchen area.
‘The centre has captured a truly comfortable and yet purposeful atmosphere. We feel very proud on behalf of Henry that you and the students were so enthusiastic about the whole project. With the plaque of Henry so prominent on the wall, he still very much remains part of QPHS. We are delighted that this is a lasting legacy and will benefit the students in a positive way for many years to come’.
Mr ROGERS
There is also an on-site Sixth Form Café, ‘The Beach’ which has been designed and installed specifically for our Sixth Form students to enjoy.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Sixth Form, where you can be assured of a high quality and supportive educational experience.
