Welcome to Harton Academy 6th Form

Harton 6th Form is very proud to provide the wide-ranging and high quality academic and extra-curricular opportunities in our purpose-built 6th Form facility. Our teachers understand young people and are friendly, approachable, committed and highly qualified specialists in their subject area. We were delighted with the Outstanding judgement Ofsted awarded to the 6th form in February 2024 but are never complacent and we continue to develop and adapt to ensure we offer the very best education that we can.

The 6th Form has a long and successful record of academic success since opening in 2010. We are proud of our students’ achievements, and our inclusive 6th form allows all students to flourish and move on to positive things in the future. From their individual starting points, students make strong academic progress and progression has been consistently very positive. In 2024, 76% of year 13 students progressed on to Higher Education although we expect this figure will drop as more students expl;ore and apply for the increasing range of higher level apprenticeships that are being offered.
Life in the 6th form is lively, stimulating and exciting and Harton 6th form is very popular with current Harton students and each year, we attract a significant number of students in Year 12 from other schools (47% from other schools in 2024). You are assured of a warm welcome and we pride ourselves on our induction programmes for new students and the continuing support you will receive. In the 6th form, you will be encouraged to develop your independence, take responsibility for your learning and take advantage of a wide range of additional opportunities that enhance your studies and experience. These will both enrich you as a person and help develop key transferable skills and qualities that are so vital in supporting post-18 applications into higher education, further education, apprenticeship or employment.
